{post_title} Overview

The TAF 80s Hair High Gain Rig Library for TH-U from Overloud is a rig simulator and expansion library for the TH-U Rig Player. From clean to scream, and everything in between, this rig library is packed with some of the rarest and most celebrated amps of the hair metal and hard rock era.

This rig library was captured with eight different microphones and 21 different cabinet and speaker combinations, ranging from 1×12 to 4×12 cabinets with numerous revered speakers such as the Celestion V30 and G12, for a total of 40 rigs and 18 patches. Designed to be used in any version of TH-U that sports Overloud’s Rig Player (a 3D amp simulator, which makes it easy to reproduce accurate real-world rig models and tweak them to your desire), the TAF 80s Hair High Gain library is a great choice for big juicy tone, aggressive bite, and the glamourous overdrive-laden wall of sound that defined the ’80s hard-rock sound.

A Special Amp: WEM Dominator

Along with the many legendary high-gain amps in this rig library, one very special model stands out: the WEM Dominator. This combo amplifier is a rare creation of the British amp company known as Watkins Electric Music, and while the Dominator was underestimated in the ’80s due to being not as loud as some of it’s competitors, it is still widely regarded as one of the best sounding combo amps of all time. With nearly unparalleled tone, the Dominator outperforms many other more famous amps in high-gain, rock-oriented applications. Now, this famous yet rarely seen amp can be experienced by anyone through the TAF 80s Hair High Gain rig library.
