Overloud Choptones Angel 2×12 V30 IR Library for TH-U SuperCabinet (Download) Overview
The Choptones ADA 2×12 G12S50 IR Library for TH-U SuperCabinet from Overloud is a SuperCabinet IR library that captures the perfectly balanced tone of the classic ’80s ADA 2×12 with powerful 50-watt Celestion GS12S50 speakers. An extremely popular combo that could easily be found on numerous stages throughout the ’80s and ’90s, this library features IRs captured with 11 mics on a motorized mic stand for more than 600 total impulse responses.
The mics recorded IRs in 8 to 16 positions each, with some of the mics receiving extra off-axis capture at 45°. The ADA cabinet is famed for it’s incredibly well-tuned sound that presents most frequencies in a proportional manner, and the Celestion speakers provide a nice boost to the high-mids to help cut through mixes like butter. Designed exclusively for the Supercabinet IR processor, a program which makes it easy to blend and create custom cabinet tones and export IRs in WAV format for use in external IR loaders and modelers, the ADA 2×12 G12S50 IR Library is an ideal choice for those seeking a flexible and classic-sounding guitar amp combo in an affordable package.

Every microphone has been moved to 4 different horizontal position (Cap, Cap Edge, Cone, and Cone Edge), two distances, for a total of 8 IRs each. For some of the microphones, the measurements have been repeated with the microphone at an off axis (45º). All the measurements have been repeated twice, with two different mic preamps: a Neve 1073 and a German preamp.
