Sound Particles SkyDust 3D Spatial Audio Virtual Synthesizer (Download)

Presented as the world’s first polyphonic synthesizer with a fully realized 3D sound engine, SkyDust 3D from Sound Particlesis set to change the game in immersive sound and music production, delivering a comprehensive virtual instrument with a whopping 256 voices, eight oscillators per voice, and an enormous array of filters, envelope generators, and waveforms from which you can choose. With the integrated 3D engine, you can create unbelievable sounds unlike any other synth, and even enjoy them with traditional stereo headphones thanks to binaural support. And you can enjoy wide-ranging traditional synthesis with subtractive filters, a huge modulation matrix, and support for modern FM synthesis.SkyDust 3D includes a complex yet intuitive arpeggiator section with polyphonic sequencing, parameter sequencing, seven arp modes, and forced scale shifts, for sequences that properly match your composition. You can use pitch effects to create unique sounds, and the included mixer and sound effects allow you to add up to four effects at once and balance your oscillators for the perfect sound. This virtual instrument is available in AAX, AU2, and VST3 formats for Windows and macOS computers.

No time to program a synth? No problem, simply use one of the hundreds of presets that are available.

Looking for happy accidents, or endless combinations? Use the dice to create random presets, for infinite sounds.

With sub-presets, you can save or load only parts of the synth, and reuse them for sequences, pitch effects, FM settings, spatial movements, and more.

Large preset buttons are on the main panel, allowing you to easily pick the right preset under the pressure of a live concert.

Sometimes it’s hard to find that preset that you like. Filter presets by artist or sound type to find them more quickly.

With random presets, sometimes you simply want to change a part of it. Lock the modules that you want to keep unchanged.

Imagine a sequencer where you can pan each step note in 3D space. SkyDust 3D allows you to do just that, bringing 3D arpeggios to everyone.

Create a note that starts at the back, attacks to the center, sustains at the right, and releases to the ceiling. All by using an EG with the integrated 3D renderer.

Notes moving everywhere, with azimuth and elevation controlled by LFOs. Give your LFOs a new, three-dimensional life.

Each oscillator can have its own spatial settings, with independent starting positions and movements, for fantastic 3D sounds.

Use movement modifiers to obtain interesting movements in a fast way, from crazy rotations to smooth movements.

Do you want all notes to start in the same spot, or should the synth create slight positional variations between notes? With SkyDust 3D, the choice is yours.

SkyDust 3D is able to output audio in numerous multichannel formats, from 5.1 to 9.1.6, perfect for your Dolby Atmos music.

Ambisonics users will love the fact that SkyDust 3D supports up to 6th order Ambisonics. Create the most immersive music your creativity allows.

Sound Particles created a special 3D panner that merges the advantages of sphere-based panners and cube-based panners for the best of both worlds.

Multiple 3D views, for you to see what is happening in terms of space: 360° view, top view, rear view, sphere view, and more.

Use the built-in HRTF datasets, or your custom SOFA file (with your HRTF profile), and you will have a great 3D experience with headphones.

With 8 oscillators per voice, SkyDust will allow you to create rich and fantastic sounds, using subtractive, FM, or hybrid approaches.

With up to 256 voices, this synth is able to play an enormous number of notes. And if you need to go past the limit, SkyDust 3D will handle it gracefully.

With anti-aliasing technology, the synth will prevent the ugly artifacts typical of some digital synthesizers. Enjoy smooth, linear-style waveforms that never feel jagged or unnatural.

From traditional waves to crazy noises, pick the right waveform for your oscillators. Everything from sine waves to pink noise provide limitless possibilities.

Use one of the multiple modifiers to create unique waveform sounds. Or link them with an LFO for even more interesting results.

Do you like ADSRs for everything, or do you prefer more complicated ones? With SkyDust 3D you get everything you need, from ADSR to DAHDSR.

The Arpeggiator and the Sequencer will allow you to create fantastic note sequences for your new music piece.

With a keyboard for each step of the sequencer, you can stop thinking about semitones and simply create fantastic music.

Yes, old synthesizers only had monophonic sequencers, but with a polyphonic sequencer the results can be even more interesting. Sequence chords and harmonically complex runs.

Add parameters to the sequencer to create even richer sequences, changing their values through time. Easy automation that will outdo even the most skillful live performances.

Pick one of the 7 arpeggiator modes, add extra octaves, and get great results.

Wouldn’t it be nice for the sequencer to adapt to major and minor chords? Force a scale for the sequence to know when to play which, perfectly accommodating your composition.

Do you prefer subtractive, FM, or hybrid? Use the 8 oscillators as 8 FM operators, and add filters on top for hybrid results.

Create custom connections between operators with the FM matrix, the sky is the limit.

Check the connections between operators on the operator’s view, to make sure you are doing the right FM routing. Infamously complex FM programming has never been easier.

If you like subtractive synthesis, use filters (with EGs and LFOs) to obtain the sound you are looking for. Classic analog-style synthesis at your fingertips.

Each oscillator can have its own filter, controlled by its own EG and LFO, providing even greater control over your sounds.

Do you want your filters to adapt to the keyboard notes and their velocity? No problem. You can easily map velocity and notes to your filters for the kind of performance sensitivity you will rarely find elsewhere.

From smooth vibratos to crazy pitch variations, each oscillator can have its own EG and LFOs with pitch modulation for unique sounds.

Use random pitch values on the Pitch EG to obtain amazing pitch convergence results, even in 3D.

Pick one of the available random pitch behaviors, to obtain very interesting results, from horror to enlightenment.

The mixer will be your friend: Use Solo to focus on a single oscillator, adjust volumes to shape your sound, or simply to check levels.

Use one of the 4 FX slots available to add effects like delay, reverb, EQ, bit-crusher, and more. Mix effects with the 3D sound design for incredibly unique soundscapes.

Control the dry/wet ratio of each effect to achieve the best results for your sound.

Use the Matrix to use any parameter to control any other parameter. Pitch-bend for elevation, LFO for resonance, nearly anything is possible.

A matrix list can grow fast. Use ‘Filter by’ to show entries by either the source (MIDI, LFO, EG) or destination (Spatial, Pitch, FM, etc.)

Use the curve editor to obtain even more control over the parameters—sometimes, the best results require fine tuning.

8 extra envelope generators to use with additional parameters of the synth. You can never have too many EGs.

An additional 8 LFOs for you to play with more parameters. You can, for example, add some extra noise LFO on top of a regular vibrato.

Use the curve editor with the extra EGs and LFOs to fine tune the desired sound.

Feel free to resize your window because the graphical interface will adapt: from extra small to extra large views.

Use 2 XY pads to control parameters easily. With snap (and snap time), the results will be even more interesting.

If you like monophonic synths, choose between Mono and Legato, and adjust the glide time that you desire.

With 4 macros available, it’s very easy to control multiple parameters at once.

Turn off pitch effects, spatial movements, or arpeggiator. Sometimes you simply want a good clean sound.

In some cases you may not have a keyboard with you, but you may still simply want to play some synth sounds. Use the virtual keyboard and have fun.
