SONARWORKS SoundID Reference for Speakers & Headphones Plug-In and App (Download)

SONARWORKS SoundID Reference for Speakers & Headphones is a calibration plug-in and app delivering consistently accurate studio reference sound on your existing headphones and speakers. SoundID Reference for headphones delivers consistently accurate studio reference sound on more than 400 supported headphones. The software eliminates your speakers’ and headphones’ sound coloration by setting their frequency response to be completely flat across all audible frequencies, ensuring that every mix translates regardless of the speakers or headphone your audience uses for monitoring. Whether in the comfort of your studio or on the road, you can mix with confidence and make music that sounds great everywhere.

After installing the software you can proceed with your speaker calibration. It takes just 15 minutes to complete the measurement process using a flat-frequency-response microphone such as the SONARWORKS Calibration Measurement Mic (available separately) or any similar mic.

When measurement is completed, save your speaker profile and apply correction using the plug-in in your favorite DAW or use the SoundID Reference system-wide app to correct sound from any source on your computer.

Beside ensuring a neutral sound, SoundID Reference offers other useful features including Custom Target, which allows you to make custom adjustments to the target curve in real time. Translation Check helps you simulate your mix on a plethora of devices such as laptop speakers, phone speakers, car speakers, and more.

Note:

A SoundID Reference mic or a flat-frequency-response omnidirectional measurement microphone (either available separately) is required to use the speaker calibration software.

SONARWORKS SoundID Reference Measurement Microphone

Designed to work primarily with SoundID Reference speaker calibration software, the SONARWORKS SoundID Reference Measurement Microphone is used to measure the frequency response of your room and speakers, capturing the acoustic characteristics of your listening environment and allowing the separately available software to correct unwanted sonic inaccuracies in your monitoring system.

The microphone features a small-diaphragm, electret condenser capsule with an omnidirectional polar pattern, and each mic is individually calibrated, ensuring a flat frequency response with optimal precision. It is supplied with a 0° on-axis calibration file for use in third-party applications, a 30° off-axis calibration file for use in SONARWORKS SoundID Reference software, and a 21-day trial version of SoundID Reference.

Key Features
  • Pre-polarized, electret-condenser capsule with omnidirectional polar pattern
  • Individually measured by SONARWORKS acousticians against an ANSI-certified measurement microphone
  • Accurate within the audible range and free from sample-to-sample irregularities
  • 20 Hz to 20 kHz flat frequency response
  • Includes microphone calibration file for 30° off-axis measurements in .swmic format (Sonarworks software native format) to be used with SoundID Reference
  • Includes microphone calibration file for 0° on-axis measurements in .txt format for third-party use
  • Includes 21-day trial version of SoundID Reference software (Mac or Windows)
