{post_title} Overview

From blues and rock to surf-pop, achieve the classic American tone of the mid ’60s while enjoying a realistic playing feel with the Overloud Jensen Vintage Ceramic C12N, an impulse response (IR) library made for the TH-U SuperCabinet (available separately). Brought about through collaboration with a product specialist from Jensen Speakers, these 1728 carefully captured IRs yield the C12N Ceramic signature tone—crisp treble, gently scooped mids, and robust lows. Widely found in high-end amps made in the style of the Twin, Bassman, and Bandmaster, the C12N Ceramic was used in three cabinets (1×12″ and 2×12″ open-back, and 2×12″ closed-back) for tonal variety in this library.

Detailed Source Capture
This is a systematic capture of a Jensen C12N Ceramic speaker from the Vintage series, installed in three different cabinets (1×12 and 2×12″ open-back, and 2×12″ closed-back) in both original and remastered versions. The 1728 total IRs were developed in conjunction with a Jensen Speakers product specialist, in order to recreate the most authentic playing experience, as if you were playing an original speaker.
The Sound of the Mid ’60s
The C12N is one of the most important speakers in Jensen’s history. It is the top 12″ speaker of the Blackface amp era, used by many American manufacturers in the mid ’60s for their upper-range models. With clear highs, sweet and slightly scooped midrange, and powerful basses, it epitomizes the tone of that decade, including surf, rock n’ roll, electric blues, and music inspired by the West Coast.
Common in Classic Amps
The Jensen C12N Ceramic was used in Twin-, Bassman-, and Bandmaster-style amps, and many others, in open-back and closed-back enclosures.
