{post_title} Overview

The Jensen Vintage Ceramic C12K2 Large Cabs IR Library for TH-U SuperCabinet from Overloud is a SuperCabinet IR library that captures the full-bodied tones of the vintage Jensen C12K2 ceramic speaker in 2×12″ open-back, 2×12″ closed-back, and 4×12″ closed-back cabinet configurations captured by 19 microphones, for an impressive 912 total impulse responses. Featuring an improved version of the original C12K with extended treble response, this IR library is a great choice for heavy distortion, clean shimmer, and creamy overdrive.

The 19 mics were used to record in four different horizontal positions, two distances, and two angles for a total of 16 IRs each. This library is designed exclusively for the SuperCabinet IR processor, a program which makes it easy to blend and create custom cabinet tones and export IRs in WAV format for use in external IR loaders and modelers. The Jensen Vintage Ceramic C12K2 Large Cabs IR Library is an ideal choice for those seeking tight and fat lows, warm mids, or silky smooth highs, in a versatile and affordable package.

Note:

You must own TH-U SuperCabinet to use this library.
Made for The SuperCabinet
The Jensen Vintage Ceramic C12K2 IR library is designed exclusively for use with the TH-U SuperCabinet program, which can either be used as a standalone IR library or with the TH-U plug-in program. SuperCabinet allows you to:

  • Graphically browse the IRs in the library
  • Blend them together
  • Craft new cabinet tones with the unique multiband mode
  • Use the IR in the software
  • Export the IRs in WAV-file format, compatible with software IR loaders and all the major hardware modelers
Rounded, Organic Tone
This is a systematic capture of a Jensen Vintage Ceramic C12K2 speaker, from the Vintage Series, installed in three different enclosures:

  • 2×12″ open-back cabinet
  • 2×12″ closed-back cabinet
  • 4×12″ closed-back cabinet

This process resulted in a total of 912 IRs, developed in conjunction with a Jensen Speakers product specialist, in order to recreate the most authentic playing experience, as if you were playing an original speaker.

The C12K2 is a step forward from the C12K. It has a different cone membrane, which grants a more extended treble response to increase the detail and shimmer of the tone, yet retains a well-contoured smoothness. Equally at home with clean and mid-gain crunch tones, the C12K2 offers an outstanding response to the player’s touch. When used with higher gain tones, it offers a powerful, rounded, organic tone that delivers full-bodied thickness to single-note-lead runs. Overloud captured the C12K2 in a fine-tuned selection of compact and large cabinets, with their trademark 19-microphone 16-position process.
