D16 Group Classic Boxes Collection (Download) Overview
The D16 Group Classic Boxes Collection is a collection of VST and AU plug-ins that includes their Phoscyon 303 Bass Synth Emulator, Drumazon 909 Drum Machine Emulator, Nepheton 808 Drum Machine Emulator, and Nithonat 606 Drum Machine Emulator. All of the included software requires a VST or AU compatible host application and can operate in 32- or 64-bit modes.
The Phoscyon T-303 Bass Line Emulation Virtual Instrument by D16 Group Audio Software is a plug-in emulation of the classic T-303 Bass Line synthesizer. The software features a unique 18 dB/octave low pass filter with no self oscillation, a constant resonance amplitude throughout the frequency domain, a fully customizable integrated arpeggiator, and a carefully modeled analog distortion effect. For synthesis, the software features two analog modeled oscillators, one saw and one square, with controls over tuning, slide time, cut off frequency, resonance, sweep time, envelope mod, envelope attack, envelope decay, acc. decay, envelope accent, accept volume, and step length all with scaled knob ranges.
The internal sequencer features 96 patterns-each with up to 16 steps per pattern and unique swing and tempo values, a shuffle mode, a chain mode, and the option to import and export patterns via XML files. You can synchronize a pattern to the host software’s tempo or to an internal clock between 30 and 300 BPM (± 0.1). A built-in arpeggiator includes 7 predefined chords and 1 user defined chord, 4 patterns (Up, Down, Up-Down, Random,) defined offsets of workable octaves, a repeat feature, and a tempo multiplier of 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, or 6.
The built-in distortion effect is designed to sound like a transistor amplifier with equalization and features signal routing between the distortion and EQ section of the synth. The device’s randomizer generates patterns within defined ranges of notes using defined chords such as Major, Minor, 7th, minor 7th, major 7th, minor 7th diminished 5th, and DIM.) It also can generate random values for gate, note, accent, and slide. You can also define the frequency that different attributes are randomly changed.
The plug-in can be fully controlled using MIDI CC and allows you trigger sounds externally using notes from the host application or internally using the step sequencer.
The D16 Group Nithonat Drum Machine 606 Emulation Software is a VST and AU compatible synthesizer drum machine plug-in that emulates the classic 606 drum machine, a mainstay for electro, hip-hop, and R&B production. It can be controlled by MIDI data via its host software or with its internal 16-step sequencer that has 8 banks with 12 patterns per bank for you to select from. The Nithonat has synthesized kicks, snares, toms, cymbals, and hi-hats that have several adjustable parameters to help you shape the sounds to your liking. The software requires a VST or AU compatible host application and can operate in 32- or 64-bit modes.
- 8 banks with 12 patterns per bank
- Each pattern up to 16 steps of length
- Each pattern defined with one of four available measures
- Shuffle mode
- Trigger out
- Global accent track
- Tap mode
- Chain mode
- Shuffle (swing) and tempo values defined per pattern
- Built in randomizer
- Patterns import/export via human readable xml files
The D16 Group Nepheton Drum Machine 808 Emulator Plug-In is a VST and AU compatible drum synthesizer plug-in that emulates the classic 808 analog drum machine. It features 17 synthesized instruments that reproduce the sounds of the 808, all of which can be routed individually to any of the plug-in’s 17 outputs. The Nepheton has an internal sequencer that can be programmed with 16 extended or 96 simple patterns. Programmed patterns can be saved and stored as XML files, allowing you to trade them with other Nepheton users. The software requires a VST or AU compatible host application and can operate in 32- or 64-bit modes on Mac or PC computers.
- 96 simple patterns
- 16 extended patterns (12 basic rhythms and 4 intros/fill ins) with 4 segments per pattern
- Each segment can be defined with one of four available measures
- Each step can be defined normal or accented
- Shuffle mode
- Tap mode
- Built in randomizer (selection of instruments to random and frequency of the randomized notes)
- Patterns import/export via readable XML files
The D16 Group Drumazon 2 Drum Machine 909 Emulation Plug-In is a drum synthesizer plug-in that emulates the classic 909 analog drum machine. It can produce bass drum, snare, tom, rim shot, hi-hat, and cymbal sounds, each of which can be routed through any of the plug-in’s 11 outputs.
The Drumazon 2 can be controlled via external MIDI through the host application or by its internal 16-step sequencer, and MIDI Learn can be used for easy and fast controller assignment. 8 banks of presets, with 12 patterns per bank, are provided to help get you started programming. Patterns can be stored and exported as XML files for sharing between users. The plug-in can be synced to the host application’s BPM or controlled by its internal clock. The software requires a VST 2, VST 3, AU, or AAX compatible host application and can operate in 32- or 64-bit modes on Windows and 64-bit only on macOS computers.
- 8 banks with 12 patterns per bank
- Each pattern has up to 16 steps of length
- Each pattern can be defined with one of four available measures
- Each step can be defined normal or flam and accented or not
- Shuffle mode
- Flam mode
- Tap mode
- Chain mode
- Shuffle, flam and total accent values defined globally and per pattern
- Scale function and intelligent rescale (automatically stretches pattern to the chosen measure)
- Built in randomizer (selection of instruments to random, steps to be affected, frequency of the randomized notes and more)
- Patterns import/export via readable xml files
