The Concept
SONUSCORE was given a challenge by a group of composers to build a cello tool to take the compositional process to a whole new level. These composers asked for a way to leverage the strengths that a real instrumentalist brings to the table and needed high-quality sound. Their workflow to be fast and inspire new creative ideas. Lyrical Cello Phrases combines the creative freedom a composer enjoys with the expressivity and emotionality of a real instrumentalist—all at your fingertips.
The Player
The themes were all played by SONUSCORE’s cellist of choice, Mátyás Ölveti (recorded for The Elder Scrolls Online and more) whose improvisatorial talent brought out the strengths of the cello full throttle. With over 70 freely combinable phrases spread over 10 themes throughout all keys, as well as 2 additional bonus themes, this library is a tool that empowers every creative composer to get the project off of the ground with an impact.
FX Page
The dedicated FX page makes it easy to edit and sculpt your cello performances to your heart’s content, accessing advanced functions for EQ, delay, and reverb. This includes:
- Low, low-mid, high-mid, and high-frequency adjustment
- Delay unit of time, time length, feedback, and send level for the delay effect
- Four reverb impulse responses (two large and two small halls), pre-delay and reverb length in miliseconds, and reverb send level
- Dedicated on/off switches for all individual FX sections

Playable in Any Key, No Heavy Pitch Shifting
Since vocal recordings are especially sensitive to pitch shifting, every phrase was recorded in four different keys. This way, the pitch of a phrase is never adjusted more than a semitone up or down.
Six Languages, Including Spoken Themes
The following languages are included, each divided into different themes: Elvish, Ethnic, Medieval, Witch (self-creations), Latin, and Italian, as well as themes sung only in vowels. It contains everything you could possibly need if you want to use a female solo voice.
Starting, Middle, and End Phrases
Designed to perfectly fit your track, each theme comes with 5 different phrases, and each phrase contains a separate starting, middle, and end phrase. This setup gives you the freedom to conveniently combine different phrases the way you want.

The Players
The artists behind Lyrical Violin Phrases are Veer Csongor and Sebastian Caspar. Veer Csongor is a classical violinist who mastered his instrument at an early age. His Hollywood style of playing can be heard in many movies and video game soundtracks. In addition, Sebastian Caspar is an award-winning violinist from Berlin who performs with the Berlin Philharmonic. He also takes part in film music recordings.
