Description

Featuring everything from hammers crushing skulls and swords hacking limbs, to clanging metal, deflections, and weapon sheathing, the Medieval Melee DESIGNED sound FX pack from boom Library provides producers with 145 preprocessed 24-bit / 96 kHz WAV sound files ready-made for postproduction work such trailers, movies, and video games. This DESIGNED pack features 870 total sounds, already prepared and edited for immediate use in production work.

The use of high-resolution WAV files for all sounds makes this pack universally compatible with all audio and video production software, including Pro Tools, Avid, Final Cut Pro X, and Logic Pro. UCS metadata protocols make sound file searching easy as can be, and these files fully support common audio management tools such as Soundminer, Basehead, and Soundly, as well as Windows and macOS computers.

Clanging Iron
The awesome, deadly power of 10 different weapons and two shields, from axes, to swords, to war hammers, it’s all in your hands. Each weapon comes with 12 different files, and each shield with eight different files. Bodies and tails also come in separate files, to allow you to customize the audio wrath.
Layered Steel
Fine Damascus steel was made with up to 300 layers of steel. Though not quite as complex as these notable blades, our sound designers cleaved into their creativity to forge new sounds and capture the truest edge of each weapon.
Brutal Blades
The gore sounds of stabs and slices bring out the complete sound for the Designed pack. Perfect for video games where total immersion has become a requirement, these sounds have already been given the full, carnal power necessary to create that full Hollywood sound, and are ready to use in your project without any further editing.
What Was Recorded?
Boom searched across Europe for the best armorers they could find. When that epic journey ended, they even dug through scrapyards and archeological sites. All this to capture the sounds of medieval close-quarters combat as realistically as possible. Ranged weapons were not included, only the raw brutality of hand-held steel and iron.
