Tap into the musical heritage of India and China for your film, TV, and game scores with Esraj & Erhu Ethnic String Phrases from boom Library, a virtual instrument library offering over 670 matchless and live-recorded phrases performed on two historical stringed instruments. Designed to run on a full version of Native Instruments KONTAKT 5.8.1 or later and the free Steinberg HALion Sonic SE on Mac or Windows computers, you can access all the content and even adjust vital performance settings and effects through the clean and intuitive user interface.

This library features Esraj (North Indian) and Erhu (Chinese) stringed instruments plus 19 diverse themes, each with 15 different phrases covering starting, middle, and end segments. Erhu legato and Esraj sustain instruments are also included, so you can easily connect or extend existing phrases.

Esraj and Erhu

The Esraj is a North Indian stringed instrument known for its extremely soft and smooth tones. Within the last 300 years, it has often been used as an accompanying instrument for voices, enriching them with a variety of warm full resonant string sounds.The Erhu is a Chinese spike fiddle with two strings. It is known for its strength of character in spite of being so versatile in both traditional and contemporary music arrangements.

Live-Recorded Phrases and Techniques

The two stringed instruments cover a huge variety of different styles and techniques, from very simple emotionally touching phrases to virtuosically stirring ones. All of them can be adjusted in key, speed, length, succession, and connection. This guarantees the perfect fit for its human touch in all styles and moods.

Legato/Sustain Instruments Included

To merge the powers of both traditional and phrase-based sampling, Erhu legato and Esraj sustain instruments have been included. They can be used to connect or advance existing phrases or to craft your own. Be prepared to implement your creative vision with ease into your scores.

Customizable Speed and Length

With short endings, you can conclude and switch between passages easily. The speed knob at the center allows for precise control of timing. All phrases were recorded to fit multiple tempi and remain expressive without set meter.

Starting, Middle, and End Phrases

Each theme comes with 15 different phrases (starting, middle, and end). They are designed to perfectly fit your track. In addition, there are two short endings per theme to quickly end a phrase. This setup gives you the freedom to conveniently combine different phrases the way you want.
