Add harmonics, sheen, and grit to your tracks with Metric Halo Character, a plug-in that models the traits of various analog circuits, including microphone preamps, DIs, and EQs, used by top engineers for recording, mixing, and mastering. In particular, the plug-in seeks to mimic the way analog circuits saturate and distort at various input levels. Character features over twenty selectable models, offering the sound of desirable tubes, transformers, and solid state devices.Use the drive control to push Character into aggressive distortion, or dial it back for subtle textures. Then adjust the gain knob while watching the high-resolution meters to achieve a level-matched output. The Auto Drive switch allows the plug-in to automatically tweak the input level to maintain consistent distortion regardless of your track’s level.
