Waves MV2 (Download)

paragraph: MV2 is no ordinary compressor—sure, it can compress audio above a threshold. But it can also compress low-level audio upward. Bring up a drum’s room sound, without compromising peaks. Or sharpen the focus on tracks that were mixed too low, without having to lower everything else.

,
paragraph: With its problem-solving talents, novel functionality, and incredibly simple operation, the MV2 is one of those plugins that will make you wonder how you ever got along without it.

,
heading: Hot and Humanized Vocals,
paragraph: Compression can tame vocal peaks, but that doesn’t help lower-level signals. Compressing low-level signals upward, and high-level signals downward, retains the voice’s subtle human qualities and emotional nuances—even with vocals that are recorded “hot.”

,
heading: One Compressor, or Two? Yes.,
paragraph: To obtain this level of control, you’d normally need a traditional compressor, and a separate upward compressor (if you can find one). The MV2 integrates both functions into a single, versatile, easy-to-use dynamics processor.

,
heading: Elevate Room Ambience for a Natural Feel,
paragraph: Room sound and ambience give life and character to acoustic instruments. Upward compression can elevate room sounds for piano, guitar, drums, wind instruments, or any other acoustic sound source in a room.

,
heading: More Control, with Fewer Controls,
paragraph: Three controls are all you need: set the upper threshold where higher-level signals are compressed, the lower threshold below which lower-level signals are brought up, and then tweak the output level… done.
