Limited-S is an advanced De-Esser, Enhancer, and harshness controller designed for both mixing and mastering. It distinguishes itself by using a Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter for precise signal envelope calculation, eliminating the need for complex attack and decay adjustments. When set with the appropriate Threshold and Ratio values, Limited-S offers transparent de-essing, reducing sibilance without audible artifacts. It operates with a “fixed threshold” approach, focusing on the most prominent sibilant peaks to avoid overcompression and lisping, with automation capabilities for threshold adjustments.

In stereo tracks, Limited-S offers flexibility to process the entire mix, mid-channel, side-channel, or individual channels, making it suitable for various applications. Additionally, it includes a High Lift control to add brightness while controlling excessive high frequencies, benefiting vocals and mastering. Limited-S features a Sidechain input for one signal to modulate high frequencies in another, ensuring vocal clarity during high-frequency interference. It also automatically switches between mono and stereo modes for efficient CPU usage.
